The second Local Area Research Fortnight will run from 11th – 22nd April 2016. The event is designed to raise the profile of the impact of local area research. Our aim is to get not only LARIA members but a whole range of public and private sector organisations and bodies on board talking about the value of local area research. Participants are encouraged to organise events or publish materials that will help the public, politicians, employees and the media understand the impact of local area research. This could include packaging up existing work and activities to be part of the fortnight or the development of something new, or a simple retweet using the hashtag #LARIA2016.
Supporter will be blogging and Tweeting during this fortnight and we’ll be posting regular updates and Tweeting using the hashtag #LARIA2016. Last year there were 1,138 #LARIA2015 tweets from 312 contributors with a combined reach of 3.1mn. This helped us promote content far and wide and we hope this year will be bigger and better.
Key events of the fortnight include our Annual Conference and our Research Impact Awards.
