The Institute for Government has been developing a programme looking at public service delivery at a local level. This has focused on how we practically join up local services. More details on the full programme are available from their website, but some of the key outputs which should be of interest to LARIA members are:
- A map of public service delivery following the journeys of three people, highlighting how difficult it can be to navigate the landscape and find the support they need.
- Joining Up Public Services around Local, Citizen Needs briefing paper which identifies five barriers that repeatedly hinder integration at a local level and insights on how to tackle them.
- Local Public Service Reform: Supporting learning to integrate services and improve outcomes briefing paper focusing on the limited sharing of what works (and doesn’t work) when it comes to service integration locally
- Eight case studies providing further detail on the methods and impact of different programmes designed specifically to support local areas to share knowledge and learning.
