Centre for Cities has launched Cities Outlook 2017.
In a year set to be dominated by Brexit, the UK’s new industrial strategy and a cohort of new metro mayors, this year’s Cities Outlook explores how much the 62 biggest British cities export, which goods and services they specialise in, and where the exports go. They explore the variation between different cities’ export bases and consider how trade negotiations and the industrial strategy can build on different cities’ economic and export potential, with the aim of boosting economic growth and sharing the benefits of prosperity across the country.
In addition, the report also provides its annual economic performance monitor of UK cities, with new data on key indicators such as population, business stock, housing and the environment. This year’s report also includes a brand new indicator on inequality. You can go straight to the full data set by exploring our interactive data tool, which contains stats for previous editions of Outlook too.
